CEREMONIAL
About the ritual from 1 to 33 degrees.
The three degrees of Craft Masonry are accepted as equivalent to the first three degrees of this Rite.
The 14 degrees from the 4th to the 17th are termed the Intermediate Degrees and are conferred by name at the candidate’s initiation into the ancient and Accepted Rite.
The degrees preliminary to the 30th degree are also conferred by name at the candidate’s initiation as a 30° Grand Elected Knight Kadosh.
Individual Intermediate Degrees and individual Preliminary Degrees are also worked each year by some of the District Past Sovereigns Chapters.
Its Relationship to Craft Masonry
Rose Croix masonry leads the candidate from symbolic, Old Testament masonry to that of the New Testament era and the New Covenant which is at the heart of Rose Croix. The focus has progressed to encompass the life and message of Christ in a time well after the period in which craft masonry is set.
The Ancient and Accepted Rite provides insight through the Intermediate degrees, (4th to 17th) and, on advancement to the 30⁰, through the Preliminary degrees, (19th to 29th) to the various degree workings covered by the Royal Arch, Cryptic and Knights Templar Orders.
